I think what he meant was wrt the "subscribed thread" list. Some people, including myself, really find the e-mail notification thing really annoying. So it is turned off.
It's nice to keep TF stuff, just within TF without cluttering the email box. I turned it off when it sortta got out of hand and there were a ridiculous amounts of email in my box. I know some people like the email notifications, but it'll be nice to have another option where you can just come to TF and check threads you have been involved in that have new responses - without having to go to those sub forums individually.
A sports forum I visit, does it so that you have a list of all the threads you've participated in sorted by the "last post timestamp". The timestamp is NOT necessarily from "your" post, but from the "last post of the thread".
