Warning before banning

i was sig banned for idk how long... and i wasn't even warned...

i would have gladly changed it to the sig rules

The rules are there. When you signed up, you agreed to abide by them.

When people see a sig that is too big, they usually will make a remark about it. But there are no rules stating that warnings will be given.

Warnings used to be given for this, but some people decided to be anally-cranially inverted. Thus, the practice was dropped.

Besides, once someone has lost the priveledge and then got it back, they usually don't violate it a second time.

While we are on the subject, why do you guys (mods) have a policy of "3 warnings" before a ban?.. Shouldn't that be "3 warnings in _____ time period" ?.. After all, as your tenure at TF increases, you will obviously have a higher probability of accumulating more warnings since you've posted more messages.

First I've heard about it.

To get banned, one has to violate the rules, mainly SPAM or excessive flaming.

At least with three strikes, you get a chance to fix the problem.

I canot ban anyone, but I can recommend someone to be banned. However, this is not done unless there is a real reason for it. And the majority of these are 1-post spammers.

Basically, keep your nose clean, and you'll have no worries.
