Default time zone question

Is it just me, or is my central standard time -6 hours for America off by almost a quarter of a day (6 hours)? It's almost two in the morning but all the new posts are reading almost 8 P.m. yesterday.

Yes, there seems to be something wrong. GMT+1 should display my timezone, but I need to set it to GMT-7 or -6 to display correctly.
