Default Search issues

Recently I've found the search function on here to be a little unreliable - for example searching 'graphics performance list', for the thread with exactly that name, the actual thread is about 20 results down. And I've had similar results for other simple searches. Not a major complaint - it's just a minor inconvenience - but I thought it would be worth mentioning.

Try searching for some really old threads, while they exist, you can't find them in search. I have even discovered a long time ago, that searching for ALL of my posts/threads won't show anything beyond like 2008. I was wanting to go down memory lane and cant now

It's all database stuff. I really would like to bring back all of the missing years as well.

What would it take to get it all sorted, Baez? Could you test out theories on the test site?
