You need a certain amount of posts before you can use a non-standard pics.

But that should only take less than a week.

It depends on what you mean, Lawrence. If you mean an avatar (the picture beside your posts) then you are limited to those provided by the forum for now. you can read up on it here.

If you mean posting a picture in a post then you would have to host the image somewhere and use [img][/img] tags around the URL.

It has been a while since I messed with the Albums feature so I don't remember offhand how to go about it. If this is what you mean post back and I will look it up for you.

Is there a way to just post or paste a picture directly into a post? Not sure how to host a picture and then link to it. Thanks

This has a section dedicated to how to add a picture to a post. This was also in the Welcome to TF Personal Message that you received.

Screenshot Tutorial

Also gives the information as well when using a 3rd party service like ImageShack.us or Photobucket.

When you're posting:
Go Advanced
Then scroll down and you'll see a "Attachments" header with a "Manage Attachments" button.. if I understand the question correctly

Looks like I don't have permission to post attachments yet. Probably too new a forum member. Thanks.

Use the hosted image's URL and put it in [IMG][/IMG] brackets.

The images aren't hosted, but rather on my hard drive. Do I need to host them on a website somewhere to post as you suggested above?

No, but if you use something like photobucket to host, you can post them now. Plus its easier to take down if you ever want too.
