As we know our off topic is dead and lame. Off topic is what really holds any board together, we just dont talk about PC's their we talk about life. This makes a community bond, members stay longer ect.

A good example of a suscessful OTF is http://djforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=12
It has doubble the posts compared to any of the main forums. This is a VERY tightly woven community too that is very active.

Even a thread with the title of So and the post containing I am bored gets turned into something useful.

I think we all need to start posting in the OTF more and take out the rules. Baisc rules like no pr0n and no spam are good, but not every post should be useful, educational ect.

Well, i like to keep the computer issues to its forum. So this site stays organized, but the idea of rules is great. I think it would be cool to have a place to just personally express yourself.

Yea, off topic can be good.

But off topic can go very, very bad.

I love how this forum is focused on computers only, even in the off topic section. There are a few threads in there that are not computer related, but that's okay. This forum is about techies.

Here's an example of off-topic gone wrong: http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=3

I stopped visiting that site a while ago because it really got out of hand. The majority of the posters come just to spam the off topic discussion. It used to be a respectable music forum.:amazed:

Just my 2 pennies.

I would really love to see a Hacking Thread. Yes that can get very unappropriate and illegel, but its very interesting.
