Use Linux. For serving web pages just download and install Debian Linux (Sarge preferably) and as root type: "apt-get update && apt-get install apache2 wu-ftpd libapache2-mod-php4" and there you go. You have a functional web server. Ftp to the ip address and type the user you created during the install (not root) and the password and upload your files to /var/www.
