Ok- it is all a little confusing out there--

How can I tell if a domain (hosted by SBC/DSL) is able to track IP address of the computers when we log in to check webmail?? Or is this something we will need to purchase separatley??

Would this be present under the weblog of who signed into the webmail on the actual server? and how do you back track this IP address??

thank you for any imput or help.

Do you own a domain that has webmail associated with it? and you want to see who uses the webmail application?

If you have some sort of hosting account, and control the domain, and you have access to the raw logs then you might be able to tell what IP's were looking at what portion of your site for a given time span.

Many web hosts provide statistics applications like awstats (http://awstats.sf.net). These are normally preinstalled and configured to report on your primary and all subdomains.

Keep in mind, that if your webmail application specifies a different port number, the logging may not be included in your normal weblog file. For instance, some webhosts will let you view your webmail at http://yourname.com:1234, where 1234 is the alternate port specified.

In any case, do you have a hosting account that you are working with? Is this webmail on your domain? is it for your isp?
