I am confused on how the business works. When i want to create my own website i have to go look for a web host and use there stuff. how come i can't just use my own stuff? what do i need to become my own host? how can you get your own domain name by yourself with no help from anybody?

do u wish to host from your pc ??? And there is many of hosts that will allow you to upload ur site ..

if i had my own server how would i create my own domain name for the world wide web to see? without using a hosting service. thats what i want to know.

You cant u still need to pay for a domain name unless you get a free one from smartdots.com

okay, then when i pay for a domain name to get from "somebody" that "somebody" is getting money. So how do i make it so i can be the person selling the domain names?

u need a dns server i think im not sure about that

u need get a domain reseller licence / account thing

hmmm, okay so once you get a dns server and you get a domain reseller license then you can sell domain names? BUT is that the ONLY way you can do it?
