can anyone suggest a place to get a free domain name?

i have been using dot.tk but it's been really slow of late.

u cant get free domain, but may be with some host provider, as if u buy space from them, they might have offfer to give a free domain with it, but it still will cost u domain hosting space

http://www.dot.tk provides free domain names. However, when you visit a free .tk site, you'll be confronted with a .tk ad banner.

Also, you can't link a free .tk domain name to a web server purely by DNS records and IP addresses. You can only link a free .tk domain name to an existing web address. So in essence, it is a redirector. But the free .tk domain would stay static over your old website address.

However, you can pay USD 35.00 a year to be able to manage DNS settings of a .tk domain name.

I dont see why you would bother when a .com is 1/5 of the price
