Hey,

I have had a hard time finding any information on this, does anyone know if search engine treats how it ranks different domains like a .com vs a .info? I was just wondering because I've noticed lots of websites are running specials and you can get .info domains cheaper. I know that it makes a difference if you are trying to brand name because people are more used to .com, but as far as the way search engines treat them I was wondering if anyone knew anything about it.

Thanks,
Alex

Some need mean certian things, .mil .gov. are military and goverment

.org has to be a none profit organisation.

Personally I use .co.nr....I'm cheap..and its free. :)

.org does not have to be a non-profit organization ;)

Its just another domain name.

Ya i guess content would play more of a factor than the ending of the domain. Thanks for the help. I think i'll keep goin cheap with the .info's :)

Yeah, the extension has no relation to the page rankings on the search engines, but, depending on your target audience, you may want to stick with the more common com/net/org.

I've used .info's, .net's, .org's, ect...I always get emails like...

"Yo, Dude...when I go to YOURSITE.COM it doesn't come up!!"

People are preprogrammed to like .com's...so I usually stick to them.
