Hey,

I'm a developer participating on a grassroots collaborative search engine called SearchSays (started late 2006). The search index is completely controlled by regular people (end users), and I wanted to share the tech-related listings here.

Basically, you can suggest some of your favorite online resources, self-promote, and read what other people are searching online. For instance, the tech page contains web pages that other searchers like to visit and recommend.

If you're interested in promoting your own site, indexing is free and do-it-yourself - easy marketing for you if you want more exposure. As time goes by, it's the visitors who determine how high up your site should be ranked (if at all). The other way to promote is to create a profile and continue reviewing quality web pages. As your portfolio of reviews increases, people can visit your profile - learn from your expertise and visit your website. Additional reviews will also let you index your site under more search terms.
