Shape-Shifting Avatars

This isn't actually an issue with THIS particular site, but in my forums I'm having an issue with the avatars being mis-shapened. You can tell that they are because certain ranks (like site admin, gold, and platinum). Do any of you know why this is and how to fix it? Thanx!
Okay another question. This is an example of one of the threads from my Earth City forums.

All of the avatars are from images with the same number of pixels, both the mis-shapened ones and the normal ones.

Resize the avatars using an image program.

I did and they're all exactly the same size with 90x90 pix dimensions. At least the image I saved them and uploaded them as is 90x90
