Photoshop is a test of your patience and willingness to learn. I would say it took me about an entire year to just become adept at using it well... I've been using it for about 4 years total and really have not improved to a level anywhere close to the pros... i'm good, but I'm not THAT good.
So just keep it up, play around, test out filters and adjustments, it's easy and hard all at the same time. Good luck!
