What word processing do you use?

Free and Paid. Looking for a new one.

Bean - it's free as in "beer" and "freedom" (open source).

open office is a good one for free, and it reads and writes ms doc files an ppt. also ms word 07 is pretty good.

For Mac you want to look at NeoOffice, it is the OS X Port of Open Office, since it installs natively (no fink required)! Has all the same features as OpenOffice just a different format since its a self contained executable for all the parts (Word Processing, Spreadsheet etc) Of Course its free

Office 2008 is also pretty good, they put a lot of graphical elements in it (silly Microsoft, trying to keep up with Steve Jobs) and so the program will run slowly on a machine with less than 2 or 4 gigs of ram, there doesnt seem to be a good way to skirt around that!

The latest version of OpenOffice has a native port for Mac OS X, and the Mac port has always been self-contained as you describe NeoOffice.
