Want to go Mac from Windows possibly...

I've built plenty of PC's...but I have one question...

Can you actually build an apple PC yourself? It seems they're impossible to get parts for. Or can I build a Windows platform that will act as apple hardware and let me install a legit copy of Mac OS X 10 on it?

You can't build your own, you have to buy the system from Apple.

Well I heard about intel-powered Macs...does that regard only to processors or...apparently now you can run xp/vista apps on apple systems if intel-powered. So can you build an intel based system that os x can run on I would think?

I have read about ways that you can make it work, but we cannot discuss them on these forums since they are not legal.

Technically, however, I believe the modding of Apple TV units to make them Macs is still legal, since the EULA for OS X only covers Apple hardware. So if you want to try that, go crazy.

Blah that really sucks...yes I know hacking Apple TV is totally legal now they declared...but still...doesn't help me, rats. Stupid apple and being so expensive!

use a linux distro they're more flexible then both windows and mac and there are allot out there which have been designed in "macesque" manner
