pc documents to apple OS

What file extension would I convert Win 98 2nd edition PC documents to when I want to transfer them to a new Mac laptop? How would you suggest I transfer them? burn a CD/Jump Drive/e-mail ?

98SE doesn't support jump drives without special drivers, so I suggest against that.

If they're *.txt, *.rtf, *.doc, etc. files, then you can just email them to yourself and should be able to open them in Appleworks or Textedit (or OpenOffice, if you wish to download it)
