Looks like Apple broke the bits , but then fixed it quickly. But the interesting thing is that the update fixes nearly 3 dozen security exploits !!!! Doesn't look like OS X is any more secure than Windows, it's just a matter of time until OS X users will be forced to use anit-virus software.

Security is different from vulnerability to viruses and spyware...

A firewall is more on the security side of protection that these patches were related to, and anti-virus software is on the virus side of protection, etc. Just to clarify.


As of the time of writing, nobody has ever written a virus for Mac OS X that successfully was able to spread. All the Mac viruses there have been were written for pre-OS X machines.
