Office 2016

If your workplace is involved with the Home Use Program you can get Office for $15. If you're in college, you can sometimes get MS products (including office) for free; or at least discounted.

Theres always Open Office

Libre Office is the more maintained one, IIRC. The original developers of OO made Libre after OO was bought (originally by Oracle... but I think Apache now owns OO? I don't remember for sure lol).

Yeah, but no matter how 'compatible' they are with Office, there still seem to be formatting issues. For somebody doing projects, if they can obtain a copy free or cheap, I would recommend that above LO or OO.

That's why I suggested Office Online, which is free with a Microsoft account :).
