Noob Itunes Question

My Itunes library has some error on songs that weren't there before. Certain songs have exclamation points in front of them and when I go to play the song, Itunes gives me warning that I must manually located on the song from my hardrive. I've had to do this several times now.

Anyone know what causes this? Also, how to fix it and avoid it in the future? Is it a syncing problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

When you first install iTunes, it imports your entire music library, However if you move or delete a song from your computer, it will remain in iTunes, and give you this error.

Exhibition, is partially right. If you move or delete a file this error will pop-up. Just relocate your files/songs, and you are good to go.
