My Dad's Mac is kinda messed up

I think there is something wrong with my Dad's Mac. Sometimes when he starts it up, the date is wrong, like it says it's 1970. Also, when he opens Finder, on the side where it says the date the file was last accessed, all of them say today.

He has a:

G4 1.25 GHz
120 GB HD
512 MB RAM

Does anyone know what's wrong?

The system battery is dying. That battery helps keep the time, date, etc. when the computer is out. Changing it is easy. Just open up your computer and look for a circular silver dot about the size of a quarter. Then go down to your local hardware store or drug store (any place that sells a lot of batteries) and match the battery. Once you have it, just replace it. You should be fine after that.
