Mac/PC Compatibility

I am thinking about getting a mac but I am worried about compatability of the harddrives being able to share with xp hard drives... is there a program or driver or something that will allow me to read and write both too and from, my mac drive to PC drives?

Hello,

There might be something for the Mac to use to read and write to the Windows drives. But not the other way around. Windows can not read or write to HFS+ which is what Mac uses.

I knew there was a utility for OS X. Just didnt know the name.

But sadly i think i am write from the Windows end. I have not seen or heard of anything nto in Beta that works for Windows to recognize HFS+ partitions.

There was a beta application but one of hte known bugs was it could wipe the drive clean. So i didnt suggest it or link to it.

I would just keep the external drive NTFS an just use the reader on the mac.
