i and my bro use a mac...
since i always wanna install new softwares, my bro made an admin account with a password
that is very annoying as when i wanna install anything or any games, i have to wait for him to type the password,
anyone know anyway which i can find out the password?

also how to reformat a mac?

There's really no way to 'find' the password on the computer. You'll have to 'find' it if he's written it down somewhere.

To reformat a Mac, you'll need administrative rights and a restoration/OS disk.

He probably has a password on it for a reason though...

No. Downloading a Mac OS X install CD is illegal.

what i meant was. does the mac website give a download to mac owners from their web so others can download that tool to reformat their mac?
like a link for mac to the download tool?

The 'tool' is built into the computer, but you have to have the disks and an administrative password.

Put your mac osx cd into the drive (Edit: That cd that says Mac OS X software followed by a version number such as 10.4.6 *mines 2 disks*)

reboot

hold down C

Follow the onscreen prompts


Congrats you just installed your first operating system and your brother will now kill you.
