m4v converter

hey australia just recently got a iTMS store and i got a music card and downloaded a video to test it and its ok quality.. i dont have a ipod video (i have ipod 30gb photo) but i want to convert to mpeg file is it possible? the only thing i have found is to play the file and record it through output or something.. btw the videos are .m4v files and contain some apple fairplay drm protection.

m4v is apple's version of mpeg4, are you wanting to convert to mpeg2's? try ffmpegx

yeh i would like to convert from .m4v to .mpg (mpeg2) but none of the converters will let me because the file is protected with DRM (Digital Rights Management) and the DeDRM programs to get rid of this protection don't work on .m4v files at the moment.. and btw sorry i forgot to mention i don't have a mac so the ffmpegx didn't work because i couldnt run it on windows thanx anyway
