Java on a 9.1 mac os

Could anyone tell me how I can get a newer version of Java so that i can run Hushmail and other things? Ive tried apples site and everytime i try hushmail my applet fails and my java source says Bad Major Version Number....Grrrrr

As far as I know, Java has not been actively developed for Classic Mac OS in a few years. So you may be out of luck.
