Ipod touch trouble...

Hey guys, I really need your help as my ipod has been nothing but trouble for the past three months! The problem is with my headphones, only the right one plays. Ive tried everything!

I put it in to get it repaired, the guy replaced the headphone jack then said it was simply a software issue and to download the latest update which i did. However all this did was clear my ipod of everything! Now i find that both headphones work when i hold the lead down on the jack but this is inconvenient and annoying.

any help with this matter is greatly appreciatted

do both headphones work if you twist the headphone's around or pull it to the side? also have you tried a different pair of headphones?
