does regular notebook RAM work in the old tray-loading iMacs? I ask this because I've heard that the old iMacs were really just a laptop mobo hooked up to a CRT...and since I've worked on em before, all i can say it looks like the rumor is true.

"SODIMM and Ghamorah!!!!!!...."

I don't think that the two have the same kind of Mobos, but it's true that they use the same kind of ram.

Yes, a CRT iMac will make use of any PC66 through PC166 SDRAM! :) I had 1 gb in my old iMac at one point because I borrowed a couple of 512 mb sticks from my friend's Dell Optiplex (this was like, in 2001) Too bad she didn't let me keep them. :( :p
