How do they stack up?

I am in the market for a replacement notebook. My current one is an old 400mhz p2 Gateway. it has served valiantly and is solid as a rock. i don't need near cutting edge, just enough for wireless internet and watching movies. I found this iBook G3 at power book guy and it looks good. PowerBook Guy :: Systems :: iBook G3 900MHz Combo 12-inch
My friend has a G4 iBook and its pretty snappy. My question is, how does the 900mhz G3 book compare to the newer and faster G4s? is it worth the extra $200 or so to get a 1.2ghz iBook or will this one be fine? i intend to upgrade the memory as soon as i get it btw.

Go G4, for two reasons: Altivec and Leopard support. Tiger is the end of the road for the G3 so I no longer recommend buying one.

ok, those are some good reasons. do you know if they will suppoirt the ppc after 10.5 or not? intuition says they have to drop it eventually, but i dont want to shell out the cash for a new macbook that has power i dont need.

what do you think? it seems to had the muscle. and BTW how can i find out if this one suffers from the 640mb ram limit? And do you think power book guy is a good retailer?

I believe that only the G3s suffer from that limit, but to be sure, I'll check...
