Get rid of this USA flag!

Ok, for some reason up in the upper right of my desktop I have a USA flag and it's something to do with characters of the alphabet. I don't want it up there, how do I remove it?

Ahhh yes...the Keyboard Map menu.

Go to System Preferences-International, and uncheck "Show input menu in menu bar" at the bottom of the window.
