if my battery dies and i have to recharge the battery, when it is charged and i turn it back on, i have to reset the date and time. why does my powerbook do this?
I dunnue bout macs, but for PC it usally means CMOS battery is dead or weak. Or if they don't have CMOS, it would be that your letting the battery die thus it can't keep time.
Macs don't have a "CMOS" battery per se, but it functions pretty much the same. I assume that your laptop has one that is not in working order, and this is causing the time problem...
If you take it to a computer place, ask them which PRAM battery it needs. Most major PC places like FRY's and Comp USA don't even think Macs use a CMOS battery.
The thing is hidden somwhere right below the keyboard.
