Apple TV

Anyone use this thing?

I saw it recently at store.. and wonder how it works.
It can stream any kind of video or photos from my computer? (Can I play any kind of video files on my computer, like avi, Xvid.. etc.. Or it just for all this itune things?)

Basically I will not have to physically connect my computer/laptop to TV (by HDMI etc.. )..


What other uses does it have? Is there anything alternative to it?

I am selling one, but thats because i do not have an hdtv. If you put boxee on it, it can stream every type of media file from your computer, including rmvb, to your tv via wireless a/b/g/n or ethernet. It can stream photos, video, music, watch youtube, hulu, cbs, and a bunch of other internet tv and radio. Do not hesitate to pm me if you have any questions. You simply make the file or folder on your computer "shared" and the apple tv will see it. PM me if you have any questions. IMO its the best wireless streaming media center out there since boxee can handle any file you throw at it.

Do you know if it will stream .ogg, .mkv, and .rmvb as well?

.ogg, .rmvb, and vorbis yes. The apple tv seems to have trouble with mkv.
