ok just a little confused....

im going to wire up my home network...only because I hate having the wires exposed and theres a LOT of them...

I have a linksys wireless router that has the cable modem hooked up to it...that serves my laptop for internet connection
my other desktops are hooked up to the router also..so they can access the network resources and printers...

everything is in 1 room but the cabling is a nightmare....
I wanted to run some of the cables in the wall to where they need to go within the room to make it neater in there....currently there kind of just out there attached to the bottom of the walls w/ staples

but I got to thinking...maybe im thinking too much

buy cat5e cable(100ft.) and use 2 sets of these:
http://www.lanshack.com/Cat-5E-Keystone-Jack-P16C0.aspx
connected to wall plates.....one set by the wireless router and the other set by the computers

so if I understand this right....I run the cat5e cable through the wall.....wire it up to the keystone jack on both ends and then make additional cables and plug the cables from the hardware to the ports on the wall?

so it would look like this:

jacks------
l l----- router ports
l l-----
l
l
l <---cabling thru wall
l
l
l
jacks-----
l---- computers
l-----

is it that easy? lol

You can, if you want to mess with your walls. There's a cleaner solution, and that's Ethernet over Power using your existing powerline in your home to create a LAN. However this would cost a bit more but isn't as hard. Just plug it in.

Also your diagram confuses me, that or I'm really tired to think right now LOL.

haha yea 1/2 hr ago the diagram was right lol
well the dashes pointing to router ports and computers represent cabling to/from the wall plate

I'll draw something up in Visio later on

Ethernet over Power
I know it is safe, although i was never brave enough to try and in my professional career of business and home network / pc repair have only seen one installation of this. One thought,,, run the cat5 cable, pay someone to do it, it is well worth it. There is nothing even close to having cat5 cable, unless it is cat6 or fiber.

IMO, if you want to run the cables yourself, then it all depends on accessability. If you want to chase them into the walls, then you need to get the walls replastered and painted. This can become a messy process.

I tend to use plastic ducting screwed to the walls which is terminated using a raised housing and the ports you suggested. Don't get conned into buying the specialist tool for the termination, unless you will be doing lots of cabling jobs. Just adhear to a standard termination setup, the guide will be on the jacks.

My advice would be to pick up a cheap network cable tester. This has proved invaluable to me as it saves a lot of messing around. You just need one that sends a signal through each core and is picked up at the other end. It takes a matter of seconds to commission each point and you can use it to check homemade or suspect patch cables.
