Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could help me out here. I have a netgear wireless access point on my network.

Just wanna check with you. Is it very common that most of the wireless access point are prone to fall off and your computer just can't detect the connection when it's down. It's as if the internet is down. Is it very common issue? is there any way we can prevent this from happening?.

Thank guys for your help in advance.

Well, I can tell you from experience, I have had a horrible experience with Netgear. I'm actually using a Dynex router as of now. I went through three of the bloody Netgear ones.

Now, is the main computer working alright with the internet?

If so, it may be a range issue. You may need stronger wireless cards.

If not, what most likely happened (or at least from my experience), the router and other computers are not configured properly.

Go to CMD (Start--Run--type in CMD)
type IPCONFIG
type IPCONFIG /RELEASE
type IPCONFIG /RENEW

You can also try power cycling the router...

1. Disable all internet connections
2. uplug the router for at least 30 seconds
3.re-plug it in
4.re start your system
5. Re-enable your connections
6. Run the CMD prompt above

Good luck! I'm not a techie at all, I just had a similar issue.
