Wireless NIC

I need a wireless NIC for my rig. I don't really know anything about NICs so I could sure use some help. Thanks alot.

If you already have a wireless router, I would suggest pairing the router & NIC to be the same brand.

I go along with this. I used an Edimax but it constantly dropped the signal. Other than that I use a USB Netgear Rangebooster. Netgear I finf wuite good.

I just upgraded my internet (got 6mbps for free!!!, a little complaining always does good) and a wireless modem. I don't know what kind of modem it is because it hasn't arrived yet but my guess is it is some random AT&T brand modem. I probably won't be able to match it so should I just hunt around for a well respected one?
