Wireless Network Problems

Hi

I've just bought a re-furbished HPTC1100. I have been able to turn the wireless on, and the wireless indicator light is on. However, I am unable to find my home wireless network. Any suggestions on how I could fix this?

is it set to the same band? Sorry, I don't know much about wireless.

hmmmmmmm can you see the wireless from other devices?

yes, my other laptop detects the network and can connect

Is there some type of utility other than windows trying to connect it?

No, there is no other utility trying to connect

So you dont see the ssid?

What do you see when u click view available networks

When I click view available networks it says something like 'no wireless networks were found in range. Make sure the wireless switch on your computer is on"

The switch is definitely on so I don't know why it can't see the network

Go to run and type in services.msc

scroll down to windows zero configuration and restart that service and see if it works then

Did you try reinstalling the drivers? Did you buy it refurbished from a reputable person / company?
