My aunt just got a laptop and she wants to setup a wireless connection for it. I have DSL on my desktop, so how would she set it up?

Wireless Router.
I don't know if you can configure a wireless card for your desktop to provide wireless for the labtop.

Yes, if your host PC that is connected to the net has a wireless card, you can refer to this thread:

If your PC doesn't have a wireless card, I would suggest getting a wireless router. If you do an Ad Hoc network to get the laptop access, your computer will HAVE to remain on at all times...

Well, I boughta router, and now it f'ed up my connection. now my connection on my PC won't work but it will work on the lap top. I am about to reinstall the DSL stuff on my PC. But, how exactly do I make a Ad Hoc network/

With your router, you shouldn't need any software at all installed on your computer besides an internet browser, and IE comes bundled with windows.

Please give us more information, as far as what model router you are using, and how everything is connected together. Can you verify that all the hosts are configured to get IP addresses automatically, and that the router's DHCP is turned on?
