My computer multiple boots between several different operating systems, mostly 32bit XP and 64Bit vista. I want to buy a wireless card but am concerned about compatibility.

My plan is to get a wireless bridge, as ethernet works fine on all OS's running on the machine. I also want to go this route in the event that I add another computer to the workspace.

But my questions is- do I really have to spend 100 dollars to do this? I can't seem to find a decently(under $30) priced wireless bridge anywhere. It doesn't have to be super powerful- standard G speeds are all right with me.

Can I buy a cheap G router and turn it into a bridge with some firmware mod? Is this difficult/possible? Or does anyone have any other solutions to the issue?

So do you think it's ok to go ahead and buy one the cheaper (under $20) routers on newegg for this purpose? Which of the models would serve the purpose best?
