My windows xp sp3 desktop isn't connecting to my hidden network, although both my phone and windows 8 machine connect just fine. I made sure to double check the connection settings and everything checks out fine, but the computer says it's not broadcasting. Any ideas?

You might have to enter the SSID for your wireless manually on the XP box

XP is no longer supported so it's time to upgrade

The fact that XP is no longer supported should be irrelevant in this case. And I'm unclear on your definition of "the XP box"

Have you tried updating drivers from the wireless card manufacturer's site?

As it turns out, the computer simply required to be added to the 2.4 GHz network rather than the 5G and then restarted.

Regardless, thank you very much for your support!

For future reference, if the SSID is hidden you can create your own network and enter the SSID. There should be a box to connect if not present and it will connect to the hidden network.

Also for future reference, hiding the SSID is pretty useless as Windows 7 and 8 can both see hidden SSID networks.
