I have a network consisting of 3 computers; 2 running win xp and one running win 98. The "main" computer with a printer connected is running win xp. I have successfully shared the printer with the other computer that is also running win xp. But there is a problem sharing the printer on the win xp machine with the one running win 98. Ill start the add printer wizard and select the printer off of the network... but then the win 98 wizard will ask me to select the manufacturer and model off of a list (something that did not have to be done win networking xp to xp). My printer is a HP psc 131 and it is not on the list. It gives me the option of running the printers installation disk, but when i do that it says it cannot find the files it is looking for. And all the substitutes ive tried off the list dont work... does anyone know what i can do to get this file win 98 calls for or a name on that list that would work with my hp psc 131? Ive searched hps site and windows to no avail... help!
