win 98 and 2000 network

i have a win98 and 200 box connected to the internet. however, my friend had set it up for file and printer sharing between the two, but now i cannot seem to get the other computer to show up in the network places to access files or the printers. i haven been able to figure out ohw to connect them so if anyone could walk me through it id appriciate it.

or just tell me how to add another computer to a network using windows 2000

ive seen to been able to add the other computer and make it show up in the workgroup, but and error saying that the certain network was not accesible and the network path was not found
