I gonna buy a new phone sonyericsson p1i and it only support wlan-b , so i wonder will it work when i use it in cafe with hotspot ?

what is the difference between a,b g and n beside the speed

You should be able to use it at hotspots like Starbucks. My cousin has a P1I and I've played with it and the wifi is pretty good.

If the hotspot is 802.11b, then it should work. 802.11b/g/n operate at 2.4Ghz frequency, 802.11a operates at 5.0Ghz frequency. MOST often 802.11g/n networks scale to work with 802.11b hardware also, unless the admin disables that option.
