Hi everyone,

I recently purchased a PC (I can name specs if needs be) which didn't come with a dedicated WiFi card, so the seller provided a USB WiFi Dongle.

The name of the dongle is Realtek RTL8188FTC Wireless LAN 802.11n USB 2.0 Network Adapter.

To address a few things beforehand, yes it is plugged into a USB 2.0 and not a 3.0 port. It works without fault on my mobile hotspot but won't connect with internet access to my home router, which works with many other household devices. I have tried messing around with power settings in Properties - Configure but still no luck.

I am running an Up To Date Windows 10 Professional, and could be missing drivers, I'm not sure.

I would be endlessly grateful if someone could help me, so thank you in advance.

Try removing the wireless network profile for your router and then rescan and connect to it.

Press Win+I to open the Settings app.
Select Network & Internet.
Click on Wi-Fi in the left panel.
There you will see a link to Manage Wi-Fi Settings. Click on it.
In the window that opens click Manage known networks, select the network for your router, and click forget.

Hope This Helps,
Peter
