Default why is wifi interlinking still so lame?

wifi been around for so long yet there is still no easy way to transfer files between wifi decives like Bluetooth..

airdrop doesn't work on android phone. I tried that yesterday again

Of course, because it's an Apple thing. So it's less of general issue and more of a support issue.

I transfer with File Explorer apps all the time; an older version of ES File Explorer, for instance. I transfer back/forth to my server at home, as well as other Android devices that I install ES File Explorer on.

I just use DropBox as a way to xfer between phones, tablets, desktops and laptops.
