You are the technology coordinator of a school system. You have two campuses that are located 6 km apart from each other and they do not share a line of sight, south and north campuses. The north campus, however, can be seen from the top of another building, 35 meters high, located 300 meters away from the south campus.

The first campus has three buildings, each three stories high, located about 30 meters apart from each other. The second campus, on the other hand is a 6-story building. This campus is near the city center where there is cable-TV service available with ISP service.

The campuses have their own LAN's in each office with no connection with each other. The building one in south campus has an IBM token Ring network with 8 computers. The others are Ethernets with local hubs. None of the campuses have any networking infrastructure.

Your task is to design and make a proposal to implement a scalable or expandable computer network for the school system. The specifications for the required network are:

Every office and classroom will have Internet access with an optimal 190 (average) Kbps connections.
All offices will be a part of a LAN in both campuses, but the local traffic will stay local in campuses.

Campus one: 12 offices with 3 computers in each office, 8 classrooms, and two computer labs with 12 computers in each one.
Campus two: 9 offices with 2 computers in 4 and 3 computers in 5 offices, 6 classrooms and a computer lab with 20 computers.

There is no cabling infrastructure in any of the campuses outside the offices. The total cable length required that would be laid out, as external wall channels, in campuses are 350 meters for the South and 290 meters the North.

Note: Our budget appr. 35.000 $

hehe....spitting image of the Cisco adememy!
I too had to design a network for a multi-campused educational facility.
Good Luck!
