Where to start network newbie!

Hey!

I want to practise my network skills, for when the time comes and i get a job in the it industry, i want to setup a simple scenario so i can learn some skills.

I have 2 computers that will be my nodes, another machine that will be my sever running windows server 2003, a 8 port switch.

So where do people think i should begin?

P.s. Does anyone understand what i mean?

Try this, if you have two network card on the Win 2003 server, connect 1 to the ISP modem, connect the second one to the switch. Connect the 2 computers to the switch.

Enable DNS, DHCP, NAT (on RRAS) on the Win 2003 server. The Win 2003 server will be your router, DHCP server, DNS forwarder.

Try that.

Use ping for testing your connectivity.
