Here is the situation and the problem.
I am playing from a net cafe wich has 16mbit double isp leased
line (8+8). But The Pings towards europe except turkey and
Italy are over 60ms (average 75-85).
But The ping to my server is only 4ms...
So here we go, My server's spec : 100mbit P4 3ghz 1giga ram ddr2,WinXpSp2.
I want to make a vpn from a pc at that net cafe (they all have
static IP's, with my server, that's 10ms average. Then i add
the ping i have from my server towards most european game
servers =35-50ms . In the end since my server is on the uni network , i will have a ping like 50ms all around europe.
Theory is nice, now to the bottom line.
I have worked with some vpn and proxy programs to see that
i had some problems with applications-games. I end up to use
"openvpn" and windows selfmade vpn tool...
now i can se with both ways the server and vice versa but it stops
there... I cant have access to the net - browsing or playing games
etc.
Now I would like some help here.
The net cafe pc has a static ip,dns,gateway. Basically Ishouldn't
change anything from the LAN nics properties ... right?
I should only alter server-clients VPN (virtual nic's) properties
If not , correct me.
I dont care in seeing the Server's lan to make a bridging thing...
I only care for my pings :/ but can't really work it out.
I have DNS working till server (I have an http server up n running
and i can access it with server's name too) Data transfer like
860kb/sec .
