USR8054 question

Hi.
I'm a new user of an USR8054 wireless router.
Question: security level on router and client.
I've set the wireless card to 128 bit encription; it works fine with the router as long as security setting is set to 64 bit. Beyond that, it stops connecting.
USR literature does not offer much, can anyone knoledgeable help out?

8054 came with some problems, you should have gone for version 9106, try upgrading firmware.

I too am a new user of the USR8054 and the wireless car that comes with it for my laptop.

I havent even set up encryption lol as i dont see the point if i have MAC address filtering, sureley that means only the computers i want to connect can? And doesnt encryption slow down your connection as it has to decrypt everything it receives? Plus i dont even know how to set it up, as you said the documentation is quite simply crap!

The problem i am having is with the wired aspect of it. My wireless laptop is working fine, however my desktop is not connecting at all. The WAN and LAN1 LED's are on so i assume the wires are plugged in properly and they look like they are. Any reason why my desktop cant connect??

well as one can help i supose i will have to spend £30 buying a wireless card for the desktop just to get the internet on it.
