TWC and self owned modem

Looking at buying a modem and it will most likely be either the Surfboard 6580 or 6121 because I can get them locally (Walmart). Frys and MC do not offer anything compatible with TWC besides Zoom, and the installer back in August was very blunt with me saying they wont hook me up with the Zoom.

Anywho, anybody here with the knowledge to know if the 8 down streams will make a difference compared to the 4 on the 6121? I know they have the 6141 with 8 streams and it's a standalone but like I said, have to get it locally.

Also, anybody here with the 6580? Can you elaborate on the wireless performance and GUI on it? I want to retire my E4200 for less clutter in my server closet.

It doubled my speeds over the Surfboard that Charter provided. I'm not sure if it is a 4 or an 8, though.

Yea the 21 is offered at Walmart and so is the 6580. The 21 is 4 downstream and after some Google I'm 80% sure the DFW is 8 capable.

Think I'll just get the 6580 and try it out to see if I'm 8 stream capable and if the wireless/GUI is good on it.
