Trying to set up an FTP site. Need help.

I've set up an FTP site and I can access it inside my network fine. But, when I have my buddy try who is outside the network, it times out. I think it's my firewall preventing him from getting in. I have the FTP site set to allow any connection right now just for testing. Anybody have any ideas on how or what needs to be changed? I have a Zyxell 50 firewall.

Check the authentication logs for unauthorized access attempts.
Is your buddy running any kind of AV or FW?
Have you tried it from other machines OTHER than your buddies or the Internal?

I've had two of them try it. One I know is on a firewall and the other I'm not sure of. I checked the logs but it is only showing me the last 15 min and there are over 100 attempts rejected.

I just had him retry it and I checked the firewall log. It did block him.

You have to make sure that your firewall is allowing BOTH ports 20 & 21 to allow access to FTP.
