I recently Rented a Dedicated Server In Denver colorado (or so they say) and i live in colorado springs. (denver ip 76.73.35.114) and when i trace router it instead of going straigh to denver it goes to Dallas to los angeles to some other place then to Montrail, canada then to denver.

When i search google to find where the 76.73.35.114 comes from they say Illinois.
But my Provider swears Denver Colorado. and im getting 127 ms when its only 50 miles away and i have friend in Califorina whos getting 70 ms and is over 1000 miles away.

I guess my question is... is the server really located in Denver? if so why does the trace route jump to dallas ect ect.
